EMANUEL FÉLIX - Pedra-Poema para Henry Moore
Rock-Poem for Henry Moore
A man can love a rock
a rock loved by a man is not a rock
but a rock loved by a man
Love can not modify a rock
a rock is an object hard and lifeless
a rock is a rock and that's it
A man can love the sacred space that exists between a man
[and a rock
a rock where something starts or ends
where he can lay his head for a night
or over which he can build a stairway to the high
A rock is a rock
(neither love nor hate can modify it)
But if it so happens that a man comes to love a rock
let it be not a rock and nothing more
but a rock loved by a man
Let the man love the rock
and that's it
a rock loved by a man is not a rock
but a rock loved by a man
Love can not modify a rock
a rock is an object hard and lifeless
a rock is a rock and that's it
A man can love the sacred space that exists between a man
[and a rock
a rock where something starts or ends
where he can lay his head for a night
or over which he can build a stairway to the high
A rock is a rock
(neither love nor hate can modify it)
But if it so happens that a man comes to love a rock
let it be not a rock and nothing more
but a rock loved by a man
Let the man love the rock
and that's it
